About the role

The purpose of this role in the child development service is to provide a high quality, effective and efficient service to children and families through the use of qualifications, skills, consultation with the individual and allied health services.

This role works with other members of the child development team to provide a multidisciplinary service to help children achieve meaningful participation in their everyday settings. The service supports families to identify and build on a child’s strengths interests and capabilities. The role will provide assessment and treatment to pre-school, primary school aged children, and families within a multidisciplinary service through the provision of appropriate clinical interventions, group work and health promotion activities.

Your Contribution Includes

  • Bachelor of Occupational Therapy or recognised equivalent qualification
  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Demonstrated Paediatric OT experience
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver assessments, recommendations & therapy in line with NDIS plans
  • Excellent knowledge of Occupational Therapy specific practices with children and their families

Skills and Experience

  • Knowledge of relevant theoretical frameworks for working with children
  • Ability to organise and proactively self-manage workload to meet annual performance targets and service initiatives as directed by the Department of Health and CBCHS
  • Proven ability to make rational and sound decisions and judgements based on a consideration of the facts and alternatives
  • Well-developed communication skills both written and verbal, including the ability to liaise with families, carers and other professionals from a diverse range of cultures and backgrounds
  • Demonstrated focus on service excellence with a commitment to delivering high quality outcomes for clients
  • Current Victorian Driver licence
  • Previous experience in family centred and strength based approach
