Our Better Health Network Allied Health team is seeking a Podiatrist who is passionate and driven to join our community-based multidisciplinary team. With our friendly and welcoming podiatrist, allied health assistants, intake and receptionist services, you can focus solely on your clients.

We are looking for a vibrant and passionate Podiatrist to support and enhance our team on a Fixed Term part time/full time role - leave cover until Dec 2025. Parkdale -Wednesday to Friday with additional days available at Bentleigh East. With no late nights or weekend work required.

Our caseload ranges, consists of adult across the My Aged Care, Home and Community Care and community health funding streams. BHN provides support and mentoring and can support upskilling where required to bridge gaps in your knowledge. Our team has a focus in delivering support for local community, making a real difference to our clients and families lives.

The Podiatry team is part of a long-standing multidisciplinary/allied health team that is dedicated supporting the families in our community. The Podiatrist meet regularly for both peer and 1-1 supervision and professional development. The multidisciplinary team also works closely together, participating in inter-team referrals and case discussions.

We strive to support career and service development. Currently the team have access to three allied health assistants to support our clinic.

Responsibilities

  • Provide effective and efficient Podiatry services to the BHN target populations by maintaining a caseload of clients in line with BHN funding agreements.
  • Deliver high quality Podiatry services to individuals or groups as part of a multi-disciplinary care team.
  • Ensure that any care delegated by the podiatry team to an allied health assistant is delivered safely and appropriately, through adequate supervision.
  • Active participation in the mentoring and development of students and allied health assistants in the field of podiatry.
  • Work with clients, families and direct care workers on meaningful client identified goals from a health education, prevention, capacity building and enabling perspective.
  • Maintain knowledge of current infection control standards and adhere to current clinical and infection control practices.
  • Maintain professional development through access to current literature, education programs and special interest groups.
  • Assist and participate in the development and implementation of quality initiatives in relation to health promotion and organisational initiatives.

About you

  • Bachelor of Podiatry or recognised equivalent qualification with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and or experience in Allied Health and Community Health / Primary Care.
  • Paediatric Podiatry experience - highly regarded.
  • Working knowledge of the Chronic Care Model.
  • Demonstrated ability to organise and proactively self-manage to meet annual performance targets and service initiatives as directed by the Department of Health and BHN.
  • Previous experience with Trakcare & MAC is preferred but not necessary
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to liaise with families, carers and other professionals from a diverse range of cultures and backgrounds

About the team

Based at our Chelsea and Parkdale clinic, the Podiatry team consists of 6 podiatrists, working alongside a team of like-minded clinicians passionate about local and holistic support for residents in our community. Located bayside close to the beach, lunchtimes easily accommodated, or lunch & good coffee at one of the many local cafes. The team is highly skilled and supportive, therefore clinicians looking to move into a new area will be assisted and well supported in the transition. Those with established experience will be encouraged to share their knowledge and experience.
