The Opportunity

As the Chief Executive Officer, you will be responsible for the strategic and operational leadership and performance of the company. You will lead the growth of the organisation by identifying business development opportunities and building strong relationships and partnerships. As a dynamic and inspirational leader, you will ensure effective and successful outcomes for the organisation in line with the Strategic Plan and Annual Operation Plan.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide thoughtful and visionary leadership that is inclusive, transparent, and empowering in a manner that supports and guides the organisation’s purpose and is reflective of its values.
  • Ensure the development, execution, monitoring, and evaluation of strategic and operational plans with the Board, Leadership Team, and staff.
  • Propose appropriate innovative and pragmatic strategies, programs, measures and steps the company can take to achieve its purpose and goals.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the organisation and ensure its overall successful long-term operations.
  • With the Board, establish financial and non-financial performance targets and drive the organisation to achieve these targets.
  • Actively build effective partnerships across government, investors, developers, and other providers to enhance capacity to deliver growth.

Your Skills & Experience

  • Postgraduate qualifications and prior relevant experience in a senior executive position in the NFP/Community Services Sector.
  • Strong leadership skills and the capacity to inspire, motivate and engage a team in an environment of change.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with First Nations people and develop the cultural integrity of the organisation.
  • Commercial and business acumen, including sound financial and budgetary management knowledge and experience.
  • Proven skill in strategic analysis of internal and external factors impacting organisations, in addition to success in developing, implementing, and evaluating appropriate responses.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills to facilitate engagement with key stakeholders, including community, government, media, alliance networks and partnerships.
  • Well-developed computer and systems skills including proficiency with MS office and business specific software.
  • Current Queensland driver’s license and Blue Card.
