Based in our Byron Bay office reporting to the Lead, Community and sits within the Cancer Information & Services Division. This Division assists people as they navigate the cancer journey, easing their emotional and practical burdens and helping them make informed decisions.
This role is responsible for identifying and engaging key community stakeholders to foster a conversation between communities and Cancer Council, build sustainable relationships and ultimately improve cancer outcomes through the implementation of Information and Support Services, prevention and advocacy.
This role requires excellent relationship management skills, experience in community engagement and an ability to gather and use community insights, data and public health information to improve cancer outcomes. The Community Coordinator will work closely with the broader team to unite the community and build trust through our visible and relevant presence. This role covers a large area working in diverse communities, therefore travel is an expectation of the role.
