About the team

The Fundraising Coordinator role sits in the Mass Fundraising Unit within the Marketing & Fundraising Division which is responsible for income generation through the channels of Campaigns, Direct Marketing, Gifts in Wills, Partnerships and Major Gifts.

The Campaigns Team has a diverse portfolio of over 12 events, raising over $17 million a year. The team have full channel responsibilities and are working to create a profitable portfolio of mature, growth and innovation campaigns.

About the role:

The Fundraising Coordinator role is responsible for executing campaign plans that grow Cancer Council’s supporter base, deepen loyalty and increase overall revenue and profitability of the portfolio. The role requires an ability to transfer to other campaigns as and when the strategic direction of the portfolio dictates.

Key responsibilities of the role:

Planning

  • Regularly scan the industry to understand fundraising best practice and apply these insights across campaign activity.
  • Create tactical plans for all channels to deliver campaign plans and objectives.
  • Take a test and learn approach to campaign activity, tactics and creative to drive continuous improvement.

Campaign Execution

  • Work with the Supporter Experience team, collating channel content, and assisting with carrying out quality assurance on the eDM and SMS journeys
  • Create social media content to achieve campaign objectives and use data to drive continuous improvement for the channel.
  • Work with agencies (website, creative, media, event and fundraising) to deliver campaign objectives to time and budget.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to drive fundraising & participation.
  • Manage campaign stock/merchandise levels and incentive strategies to fulfil campaign requirements at the best return on investment.
  • Work on the creation of campaign materials that are in line with the visual and verbal brand of the organisation.
  • Campaign website updates and management.
  • Undertake all administration tasks required to fulfil the campaigns.

Tracking and Reporting

  • Process invoices, track expenditure and work with relevant team to ensure revenue is allocated correctly.
  • Undertake campaign and channel reporting (collating from key stakeholders) to achieve continuous improvement.
  • Undertake post campaign analysis to inform strategic planning for each campaign.

About you

Essential:

  • Demonstrated relevant experience in marketing and/or fundraising.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment and being able to multitask / work across numerous projects at any given time.
  • Experience in developing marketing materials and implementing marketing campaigns.
  • Basic understanding of data driven marketing channels (edms, direct mail, digital) and data management
  • Well-developed interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated skills in working with teams to help achieve income targets.
  • Initiative to manage own workload as well as work within a close team environment.
  • Strong computer skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • High level Microsoft office skills (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
  • Experience in administrative support

Desirable:

  • Sound knowledge of fundraising legislation, practices and the philosophy of charitable giving.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications, such as business and/or marketing, or equivalent
  • Experience using Funraisin platform.
