About the role

As the Prevention and Early Detection Education Specialist, you will be responsible for the development and delivery of evidence-based education and training programs to engage the community to reduce cancer risk and improve early detection for all Queenslanders.

This role is a Permanent, Full-time (37.5 hours per week).

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have qualifications in education, training or a related field, or relevant experience. You will have proven experience in the development, delivery and evaluation of education and training curriculum and programs. Experience working in public health or disease prevention will be highly regarded. You will be a self starter who is able to work with minimal supervision and can deliver on education projects.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills

Essential Skills:

  • Qualifications in education, training or a related field; or
  • Experience in education, training and curriculum development is essential, ensuring training addresses diverse learning styles.
  • Experience in, or an understanding of, project management principles.
  • Experience in delivery of training and education programs.
  • Experience in evaluation of training and education programs to ensure the programs provide learning outcomes for the participants.
  • Experience in development and delivery of adult education and training programs.
  • Demonstrated experience in responding to multiple and diverse stakeholder needs while ensuring the needs of projects are met.
  • High level of leadership and coordination skills across concurrent projects or programs.
  • Experience building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and evaluation skills with a focus on continuous improvement.

Desirable Skills:

  • Degree or experience working in Public Health education.
  • Current Queensland driver’s licence is desirable.
  • An understanding of the impact that the diagnosis and treatment of cancer have on individuals, their partners and families.
  • Strong work ethic and resilience.
  • Ability to use sound judgment and manage workloads within tight deadlines.
