OUR STORY

The Central Land Council (CLC) is a corporate Commonwealth entity established under the Aboriginal Land Rights (Northern Territory) Act 1976. The CLC represents traditional landowners, native title holders and other Aboriginal people in the southern half of the Northern Territory—an area of almost 780,000 square kilometres.

The CLC provides its constituents with advice, advocacy and practical assistance to support their aspirations, manage their land and realise and protect their rights.

THE ROLE

  • Project Officer - Minerals and Energy - MI017 - Alice Springs
  • CL 4 $69,500.00 progressing to CL 5 $82,202.00
  • Aboriginal Identified Position

The Project Officer is responsible for working with the Mineral and Energy Section to coordinate engagements with Aboriginal people living in towns and communities across the CLC region, particularly in order to assist them in matters related to the functions of the CLC as defined in the Aboriginal Land Rights (NT) Act 1976 and Native Title Act 1993.

Taking direction from Senior Minerals and Energy Officers and regional Minerals and Energy Officers (MEO), the role is responsible for planning, organising and carrying out logistics for remote meetings facilitated by the Minerals and Energy Section. The Project Officer will also support Minerals and Energy Officers to run meetings, including supporting constituents to be able to participate effectively. The Project Officer will be a key point of coordination between Minerals and Energy Officers and the Regional Services Section to ensure meetings are planned and coordinated effectively.

Annual progression within the salary scale is subject to satisfactory performance. Progression is in accordance with annual increments set out in an enterprise agreement.
