About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Outreach Counsellor with prior experience in case management, skilled at supporting at-risk youth aged 12 to 18 and their families facing various challenges such as homelessness, family conflict, and substance abuse.

This position is permanent full-time based in Mirrabooka.

  • The position is working with young people, implementing early intervention strategies to prevent risks escalating with view to divert youth away from high-risk situations.
  • Provide one-on-one counselling for young people at risk and their parents (carers, grandparents, or guardians).
  • Facilitate a variety of group education sessions for adolescents.
  • Work with young people from relevant locations including - their home, in school and after school care settings.

About You

  • Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, or other related disciplines.
  • Diploma qualified with extensive experience may be considered.
  • C class drivers’ licence.
  • Working with Children Check
  • National Police Clearance
  • Demonstrated experience in intake, assessment, and case management.
  • Knowledge and experience in early intervention and prevention program services.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver and evaluate personal and relationship education programs relevant to children.
  • Must be able to work autonomously.
  • Strong professional boundaries
  • Ability to work within a team and get along well with others.
