About the position

The Project and Engagement Lead role will oversee the delivery of a new data project at the Centre involving the implementation of a benchmarking tool which will allow child and family service providers to compare their performance statewide in ways that have not been possible previously. The project involves the development of an online benchmarking platform which will be easy to navigate, secure, and supported by a small number of organisations initially, with a view to scaling up at the end of the 18-month project.

Key to the success of this proof of concept project will be the ability of the Project and Engagement Lead role to engage stakeholders in the pilot project, communicate regularly and clearly with those organisations who are not part of the pilot but have a stake in its success, and ensure the project’s objectives and deliverables can be met within existing time and budget constraints. The role will involve translating what is a complex and ambitious project into accessible and user-friendly language and concepts to garner sector-wide support. Some technical knowledge will be needed as the role will need to liaise closely with the Data and Outcomes Specialist, IT expert, and organisations participating in the pilot to support the setup and maintenance of the benchmarking tool.

The Centre for Excellence in Child and Family Welfare (the Centre) is the peak body for child and family services in Victoria and Tasmania. For over 100 years we have advocated for the rights of children and young people to be heard, to be safe, to access education and to remain connected to family, community and culture. We represent over 100 community service organisations (CSOs), students and individuals working across the continuum of child and family services, from prevention and early intervention to the provision of out-of-home care throughout Victoria and Tasmania. Key Accountabilities

General

• Act as the primary project manager with oversight of all timelines and deliverables, ensuring the project meets scheduled goals and benchmarks and funding requirements.
• Assist in recruiting partner organisations for the pilot and facilitate data access and integration, managing the 'data in' process effectively.
• Coordinate communications and stakeholder engagement strategies, ensuring clear and consistent messaging across all channels.
• Assist with the setup and maintenance of the data platform, collaborating with the Data and Outcomes Specialist and IT expert to ensure technical precision and reliability.
• Establish an operational group with representatives from the pilot organisations to troubleshoot challenges, share knowledge and skills, and capture what’s been learnt.
• Develop a monitoring and evaluation framework, consistent with funder expectations, to support the business case for scalability.
• Schedule and manage project milestones, providing regular updates to stakeholders.
• Identify and act on business opportunities for project sustainability beyond the life of the pilot.

• Knowledge of Victoria’s child and family services sector, including data challenges and opportunities
• Experience managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders
