The Construction and General Division of the CFMEU (the Union) represents workers in the construction, building, and civil engineering industry, as well as workers in the allied off-site manufacturing and maintenance sectors.

The Union's successful bargaining campaigns continue to deliver fair wages and better conditions, including superannuation, redundancy pay and income protection. In 2000 the CFMEU won the 36 hour week, giving workers 26 paid days off a year.

The Union also fights for improvements in workplace health and safety, as well as for the rights of apprentices and trainees. In addition, the Union is involved in political and industrial campaigning and lobbying on behalf of its members.

The Union seeks to employ a Digital and Social Media Content Creator to be responsible within the Organising and Campaigns Team including social media of the Union.

This position will be based in the Union’s Pyrmont Office.

Responsibilities:

The purpose of the Digital and Social Media Content Creator role is to develop and implement digital campaign strategies for growth.

Key duties:

  • Working closely with the Branch and National Secretary to engage in the digital space using a range of digital media and communication tools
  • Manage social media accounts on different platforms
  • Recruitment of new members through digital marketing
  • Developing and implementing digital media strategies across multiple platforms
  • Providing high quality advice to the National Secretary and other officials on digital strategy
  • Creating online campaigns, conversation frameworks and digital targeting
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with key stakeholders including the CFMEU membership, Delegates and other Union officials
  • Identification and mentoring/training of workplace leaders and activists in digital organising
  • Building reliable and active digital workplace networks for the CFMEU.
