ABOUT THE ROLE

The Senior Consumer Engagement Officer will report to the Director, Advocacy and Engagement. This role can be in Melbourne or Canberra, with hybrid working arrangements available. The role may involve some interstate travel.

You will build the capacity of consumers and lead the implementation of new strategies and processes for member and consumer engagement. In addition to this

you will:

  • Promote and protect the reputation of CHF by striving for best practice consumer engagement.
  • Support the development of, and implement, an internal consumer engagement strategy.
  • Attract and retain members (organisational and individual) through an enhanced Member and supporters of CHF value proposition.
  • Build the capacity and skills of consumers by developing and implementing CHF’s consumer education program(s).
  • Working closely with our Policy team, map, redesign and oversee smooth implementation of activities and events such as webinars, roundtables etc.
  • Build trusted relationships with internal stakeholders including the Executive and team members.
  • Ensure contract requirements/deliverables are met and contribute to activity work plans, development of submissions and associated performance reporting.
  • Continually measure, report and improve the effectiveness of CHF’s engagement efforts, including implementing process mapping and redesign to drive improvements.
  • Compile and review reports from our CRM (Salesforce) to monitor progress in consumer engagement and assist in the preparation of high-quality reports on consumer engagement for CHF.
  • Manage a small team.

ABOUT YOU

You should have:

  • Commitment to achieving and upholding the CHF vision, mission and values.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and relationship management skills including the ability to build strong working relationships with members, health consumers, colleagues, stakeholders and collaborative groups.
  • Strong track record in Member and stakeholder relationships and able to demonstrate successful improvement activities.
  • Proven capacity building and coaching skills, ideally with a good understanding of adult learning principles, coupled with relevant experience in presenting and training.
  • Excellent problem-solving ability, proven organisational skills and the ability to prioritise and efficiently manage time.
  • People, budget, CRM (Salesforce), Microsoft Office experience and proven ability to meet contract requirements/deliverables.
  • Ability to respond flexibly and work in a busy and complex environment where there are competing demands, changing priorities, tight deadlines and limited resources.

DESIRABLE

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field.
  • Knowledge of the health sector.
  • An understanding of IAP2 methodology and practice.
