Community Information and Support Glen Eira (CIS Glen Eira) is a branch of CISVic, a not-for-profit community organisation. CIS Glen Eira provides information, referral, advocacy, and support services including emergency relief to people in need and connects volunteers with local volunteer opportunities.

The Community Support Team Leader will support the CIS Glen Eira Branch Coordinator in the operations and volunteer-led service delivery of CIS Glen Eira. Services include emergency relief program, counselling, No Interest Loans, casework, energy assistance, State School Relief and Tax Help. The Team Leader will assist with recruitment, training and support of volunteers and oversee the Volunteers of Glen Eira program.

Key Responsibilities:

Service Delivery

  • Induct, train and support volunteers and students in all areas of service delivery in a range of programs.
  • Oversee the service delivery data reporting, run compliance reports, and correct any data issues.
  • Coordinate food purchases and donations for the Emergency Relief program.

Volunteer Resource Service

  • Respond to volunteer enquiries promptly.
  • Maintain a count of enquiries.
  • Prepare relevant reports.
  • Maintain appropriate directories and databases related to local volunteering organisations and volunteer roles on offer.

Stakeholders

  • Attend and participate in local networks as required.

Internal Obligations

  • Commitment to CISVic’s strategic plan and meeting goals of the operational plan.
  • Attend and actively contribute to team and working group meetings.

Key Selection Criteria

  • An appropriate welfare-related qualification along with experience working in the community sector.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of the issues affecting disadvantaged individuals and communities.
  • Ethical, self-motivated and committed to helping others.
  • Prior experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and the ability to engage with diverse individuals and groups.
  • Highly desirable - Experience working with volunteer teams.

This role is remunerated at Social and Community Services (SCHADS) employee Level 4.4: $44.68 per hour.
