About the role

The Industry Education Specialist provides subject matter expertise and advice on design and installation requirements for consumer energy resources, electrical safety, and various state and national regulations.

Working closely with both the Education Team and Industry Teams, you will aid in the development and review of educational resources, support learning management system development with technical resources and provide technical expertise in the development of policy work.

The role will uphold consumer protection while sharing knowledge with industry participants – installers, designers, retailers and manufacturers/agents. The role has a great understanding of the schemes across each state and how it impacts participants.

This is a full-time, 12-month temporary position working 76 hours per fortnight (1 FTE).

About you

We're looking for someone who has experience working as an accredited PV / Stand-alone Power System / Battery designer and / or installer and providing technical and educational advice in various forms.

Additionally, you will:

  • Tertiary qualified electrician, with 2+ years of technical training experience and 5+ years of installation experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of relevant Australian legislative and statutory provisions, standards and frameworks relating to the PV sector and electricity supply sector.
  • Experience in answering technical questions and clearly and succinctly relaying technical information.
  • Ability to interpret and produce technical images, plans and writing.
  • Experience in mentoring, leading discussions and comfortable to be presenting in large forums on technical advice to individuals with varying levels of knowledge.
  • Comfortable to lead discussion and collaborate with Education team as SME.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team and contribute to a project environment and track and report on project deliverable in real time.
  • Able to collaborate in cross skilled team of technical, projects and strategy thought leaders.
  • Good computer skills, including the Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to quickly learn new processes and adapt to a changing work environment.
  • Strong time management skills.
