  • Salary (FTE): $61,00 - $65,000 per annum + superannuation, determined by relevant experience and qualifications.
  • Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Are you a proactive and organised individual that is passionate about the future of the planet? West Australia’s climate initiative, Clean State is looking for a creative programme assistant to join the team.

The ideal candidate will be used to working in a fast-paced environment and having responsibility for the smooth implementation of programme activities; ensuring that deadlines are met and that work is delivered to a high standard. They will have experience working closely with leadership teams and liaising with a wide range of senior government and industry stakeholders.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who has excellent communication and event organising skills. Ideally, you would have a keen interest in climate change and climate action.

Key responsibilities:

  • Guaranteeing smooth day-to-day programme running, and logistical support to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of Clean State’s outreach

  • Helping to monitor key project milestones and resources, track deadlines, organise meetings with stakeholders and project partners (managing the Director’s diary and time, setting dates, booking rooms, circulating agendas)

  • Assisting the design, planning and delivery of a range of learning events and workshops, with participants and delivery partners

  • Building and maintaining the team’s stakeholder management database

  • Overseeing programme coordination and contact with participants, partners and clients, including contracting and reporting

  • Supporting the team as necessary with desk research and background information

Essential:

  • Two to three years experience and a flair for supporting the planning, management and delivery of projects, ensuring they remain on time and within budget, as well as the confidence and flexibility to operate in a fast-paced environment

  • Solid organisational, prioritisation and time management skills with proven ability to coordinate and track multiple projects simultaneously - with exceptional attention to detail

  • Experience acting as a point of contact for external stakeholders, representing an organisation to customers, participants or citizens

  • Demonstrable experience of organising workshops or events from start to finish

  • The ability to think laterally, to look to the outside for inspiration, and to be creative in developing new solutions

  • An interest in and enthusiasm to learn about climate change solutions for Western Australia.

Desirable:

  • Experience of working with government and/or the energy sector

  • Research experience to scope projects and inform decision-making

  • Experience creating digital content like blogs and social media posts

  • An understanding of grassroots community and NGO advocacy and activism on climate change and related issues

  • Experience working alongside farmers, workers, regional communities, and Aboriginal people in Western Australia
