Program Manager - Remote / Work From Home

Climate Outreach (Australia)

1 day left to apply

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Our vision is to make climate change an issue that unites all Australians and motivates us to take action.

To make this happen, Climate Outreach is working in partnership with Multicultural Leadership Initiative and Cricket for Climate to tell the climate stories that resonate with the 1 in 3 Australians that are Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) and with the 8 million cricket fans in Australia. Through this partnership, we will contribute to accelerating, expanding and normalising public discussion and action on climate.

In its first year, the program will:

  1. Undertake new research into what different audiences know, think and feel about climate change. We will use this research to produce toolkits on effective climate communications for multicultural communities and cricket fans.
  2. Support core partners Multicultural Leadership Initiative and Cricket for Climate to activate climate ambassadors who can communicate, normalise and inspire climate action within their communities.
  3. Forge new partnerships.

ABOUT climate outreach

Climate Outreach is a UK based organisation that has recently begun work in Australia. We are a team of social scientists and communication specialists working to widen and deepen public engagement with climate change. Through our research, practical guides and consultancy services, we help organisations communicate about climate change in ways that resonate with the sense of identity, values and worldview of their audiences and stakeholders.

Informed consent and support from people across society and around the world creates what we call a social mandate for climate action – and we believe it’s how real change happens.

We have nearly 20 years experience working with a wide range of international partners including central, regional and local governments, international bodies, academic institutions, charities, businesses, faith organisations and youth groups.

We do our best to make staff positions accessible to all potential team members, regardless of race, colour, national origin, ethnicity, age, disability, assigned gender, gender expression or identity, sexual orientation or identity, religion or creed, veteran status, and marital or parental status. We strive to recruit team members from communities most impacted by climate change or impacted by other kinds of environmental, social, and economic injustice. We therefore strongly encourage applications from First Nations, people of colour, women, LGBTQ people and members of marginalised communities.
