About CMY
The Centre for Multicultural Youth (CMY) is a not-for-profit organisation based in Victoria, providing specialist knowledge and support to young people from refugee and migrant backgrounds. Our vision is that young people from migrant and refugee backgrounds are connected, empowered and influential Australians.
About the Role
CMY seeks a Multicultural Youth Worker who will be responsible for planning and delivering a variety of face to face and online programs and group work activities developed in response to local needs and delivered in community, sporting and school-based settings, as well as providing information, brief intervention and supported referral to help young people access local services.

- Location: CMY Gippsland, Morwell Office (Due to COVID-19 restrictions, this role will require you to initially work from home)
- Interviews: to be held in the week beginning 22 March 2021
You will have
- An understanding of and sensitivity to issues affecting young people from refugee and migrant backgrounds; and experience in providing one on one support to this cohort;
- Demonstrated experience in delivering programs to young people in sport, school and community settings and an understanding of positive group facilitation and training practices
- Understanding of youth participation and community development principles;
- Experience in delivering programs in partnership with other organisations and an ability to collaborate with a diverse range of people and communities;
- Well-developed IT and written communication skills including the ability to produce reports; deliver online programs; and maintain records and documentation
