About the Role

The Programs and Services area develops and delivers a range of programs and services that focus on building resilience and developing capability and capacity of multicultural youth within a strengths based, family and community focused approach. Programs and services are integrated and operate in a coordinated manner with a regional and state-wide focus

The Team Leader will be based in Traralgon and is responsible for implementing strategic coordination in the LaTrobe Valley and surrounding areas to promote migrant and refugee young people’s participation. The Team Leader will provide strategic leadership and support for regional networks and projects. The position will resource other services, providing advice and training where required.

The Team Leader offers key support and supervision for other CMY Gippsland based staff, assisting them to prioritise and undertake their work with young people, families and community.

  • Hours: Part –time 0.8 FTE
  • Fixed Term : until June 2025
  • Base Salary (SCHADS Level 6 ): $102,554.40 (pro rata) per annum plus Super and access to Salary Packaging(Salary Packaging is a great way to increase the value of your salary by allowing you to receive a portion of your income in the form of tax free or tax-deductible benefits.)
  • Location: Traralgon
  • Interviews: to be held in the week beginning of 8th July 2024

Key Selection Criteria

  1. Demonstrated experience in assessing needs within migrant and refugee communities and a sound understanding of community development and youth participation/ethical youth work practices.
  2. Strong commitment to working across the Gippsland region to support migrant and refugee young people feel connected to the community
  3. Demonstrated success in managing stakeholders with an ability to motivate, influence and collaborate as a partner.
  4. Experience in the supervision of staff and team management and development, including of both highly experienced and entry-level staff;
  5. Well-developed organisational skills and demonstrated experience in project management.
