About the Role

CMY seeks three young women (17 – 24yrs) to join our team as Youth Trainees. The Youth Trainee role is an exciting employment opportunity that incorporates skill and professional development and on the job training whilst providing administrative and facilitative support to a variety of projects delivered by the Youth Leadership Team.

This role will work closely with and be supported by the Senior Project Officer to support the delivery of training and capability building activities for young people from refugee and migrant backgrounds. A key aspect of the role will be engaging and supporting young people in leadership opportunities. The position will primarily be located in CMY’s Carlton office, though it may involve some offsite program support.

The roles were created as part of CMY’s commitment to providing opportunities for young women from refugee and migrant backgrounds, through the Seat at the Table project, funded by the Office for Women to provide young women entering the work force valuable professional experience.

This role is being advertised specifically for young women (17 – 24 years old) from a migrant or refugee background under Special Measures of the Equal Opportunity Act.

  • CMY240
  • Hours: 15.2 hours per week (0.4 FTE), Part Time
  • Fixed Term: until December 2022
  • Base Salary: (SCHADS Level 1) : $43,689 per annum, pro rata, plus Super and access to Salary Packaging
  • Location: CMY Carlton Office (Due to COVID-19 restrictions, this role will require you to initially work from home)
  • Interviews: to be held in the week beginning 15 November 2021

The successful applicant must provide evidence that they meet government COVID-19 vaccination requirements and are either fully vaccinated with a TGA approved COVID-19 vaccine or have received at least 1 dose of a COVID vaccination and a booking to receive the second vaccination by November 26th 2021
