We are seeking a part-time Coordinator within the Loddon Mallee Homelessness Network to play a significant role in the development and implementation of sector wide reforms of the homelessness service system.

The Loddon Mallee Homelessness Network (LMHN) is a forum for member agencies to come together and work collaboratively within a Human Rights framework on issues of homelessness.

The Network exists to:

  • Promote consistent good practice and service responses across the service system including adherence to relevant standards and legislation, commitment to service user input and access and equity principles.
  • Advocate for social change, being a voice for people experiencing or at risk of homelessness, and raising awareness of the particular issues related to Indigenous homelessness.
  • Provide opportunities for professional development, networking, collaboration, partnership and information exchange.
  • Influence, discuss implications of and develop responses to policy and program development, providing an opportunity for gaps and issues to be identified by workers and/or agencies.

The Coordinator role is supported by the Centre for Non-Violence (CNV) which is a leading and innovative specialist Family Violence organisation based in the Loddon area of Victoria. Working 30.4 hours/week (0.8FTE), this Coordinator role will be responsible for:

  • Facilitating consultation with primary regional homelessness service providers and service users.
  • Supporting and assisting organisations in change management processes associated with sector reform.
  • Assisting with the identification of rural and regional needs, with a view of enhancing the regional and state-wide homelessness service system.
  • Sharing information and promoting a better understanding of homelessness with a range of community organisations.
  • Assisting in the development of new services and programs and contributing to the development of training priorities within regional homelessness service networks.
  • Encouraging and maintaining linkages with other relevant service providers and with peak bodies.
  • Contributing to the achievement of the LMHN annual strategic plan - the key outcomes areas of which are planning and communication, advocacy, capacity building and service development.

To be considered for this position you will have:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in social work, psychology, community services and/or a related human services field.
  • At least five years’ experience working in the homelessness or similar field.
