About the role

The Mental Health Clinician provides clinical care and treatment for eligible people who are completing a Mental Health Treatment Rehabilitation condition as part of their Community Corrections Order or Parole Order. The Mental Health Clinician will be required to develop and maintain strong working relationships with key partners across the region and be skilled and capable in the delivery of community based, mental health and forensic services.

Your duties include:

  • Deliver day to day clinical care, evidence-based treatment and best practice interventions including counselling skills
  • Provide appropriate follow-up care including review and referral to other agencies and GPs as required
  • Undertake ongoing clinical risk assessments of participants and support risk management plans based on clinical and forensic information

Our ideal candidate:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in nursing, occupational therapy, psychology or social work including current registration with AHPRA where appropriate
  • Extensive experience in care and treatment in mental health, alcohol and other drugs and/or forensic settings
  • Proven experience in utilising clinical competencies to provide comprehensive evidence based psychosocial treatment plans and/or interventions in working for clients that enable them to achieve goals and improve health outcomes
