A skilled and values aligned Risk, Quality and Compliance Manager is needed to lead the development, implementation and management of effective Risk Management, Quality and Compliance systems.

What your role will look like

Work/life balance is important at Community Resources so there is flexibility relating to how the week can be structured. The position can be worked part-time (30 hours) or full-time (38 hours), with the option of working flexibly between the office and home. With head offices in both Wollongong and Tuncurry, and business unit sites across Australia, you could live in a variety of locations and be considered for this exciting position!

The Risk, Quality and Compliance Manager is responsible for the ongoing development, implementation and review of effective and fit-for-purpose compliance, risk management and quality frameworks.

This position is part of the leadership team and demonstrates values-aligned behaviour to support our purpose and strategic objectives. The scope includes all of our diverse businesses. Having a commercial focus in the context of a community development organisation is key to success. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in designing and building frameworks and processes in a way that is engaging for the teams they collaborate with.

The successful applicant will have;

  • Risk Management or other qualifications related to this field
  • Minimum five years’ professional work experience in a relevant field of expertise including Risk Management and/or Quality Improvement, ideally in community development, waste management or another not-for-profit or social enterprise context
  • Demonstrated experience implementing and coordinating a risk management and compliance system, including policy writing and review, implementation and monitoring of risk control measures, data collection, analysis and reporting and external audit
  • Knowledge of risk management practices and standards such as ISO 31000:2009 and other Australian Standards for Risk Management
  • Knowledge of ASIC and ACNC regulations, Australian Charity and Company Law in terms of Governance and Risk and the regulatory (desirable)
  • Highly effective interpersonal communication, leadership and stakeholder engagement skills with demonstrated client focus, ability to maintain appropriate confidentiality, influence and work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders
  • Proven organisational, process management, critical thinking and problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to manage time constraints and competing deadlines
  • Willingness to actively contribute to organisation policy and practices associated with the traditional custodians of the land
  • A genuine commitment to people and the planet through employment and community development
