A fantastic opportunity is available for a passionate and motivated Assistant Director to provide leadership, vision and guidance to an expanding, quality OSHC program in Throsby.

Due to an internal promotion, Throsby OSHC Program is seeking a vibrant, self-motivated and enthusiastic Assistant Director who is passionate about children’s education and providing a happy, friendly environment with excellent care and education through an inclusive play-based curriculum.

About the Role

The successful applicant will fill the role of Assistant Director, Educational Leader, First Qualified and have experience as a Responsible Person.

Working to support the Director and mentor the Team Leader and Educators, the successful applicant will demonstrate effective communication skills, a warm and positive outlook and be able to inspire high quality early education.

  • Permanent full-time position (76 hours/fortnight)
  • Admin duties which can be either in am or pm
  • Shifts may vary during School Holiday Program
  • Provide guidance and support to a quality program
  • Establish and nurture respectful relationships with children, families and staff
  • Support Educators to provide engaging learning environments that allow children to think critically and direct their own learning while ensuring the overall health, wellbeing and safety of all children attending the service

Rewards:

  • Children’s Services Award – Children’s Services Employee Level 5
  • Base hourly rate between $32.25 and $33.67, commensurate with qualification and experience

Requirements:

  • Diploma in Early Education and Care (or ACEQA approved equivalent)
  • ACT Working with Vulnerable People registration
  • First aid certificate, including asthma and anaphylaxis
  • Commitment to developing leadership skill that will support a diverse team in providing quality early childhood education and care.
  • Sound knowledge of the Education and Care Services National Law, Education and Care Services National Regulations and the My Time Our Place Learning Framework
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Current driver licence and own car (desirable)
