Concern Australia is a grassroots welfare organisation that emerged out of the work of Rev Dr John Smith who also nurtured the growth of the God’s Squad Christian Motorcycle Club in the 1970s.

Today we work with young people and children aged 5–25 years, creating opportunities for them live, learn and earn better and create the space for them to live life to the full.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

The Victorian Government has allocated $41.4 million in the 2020-21 Budget to establish a network of locally embedded Jobs Advocates. The Jobs Victoria Advocates program aims to:

  • Assist Victorians prepare for and secure employment through the provision of information, referral and connection supports.
  • Mobilise an agile and proactive workforce to identify Victorians, including young people, in need of support across the state.
  • Contribute to a more coordinated and streamlined service experience for jobseekers.

ABOUT THE ROLE

In this role, you will provide high-level administrative support to the Job Advocates and the program with an online and social media presence, including Facebook, Linked-in and Instagram to promote the work of Job Advocates and facilitate referrals to the program.

You will make an impact to by:

  • Providing support the Job Advocates and the program’s delivery through the provision of bookings and general back of house administrative functions, including database administration, file management, communications, external marketing and connections, function space bookings and participant follow up as required.
  • Providing assistance with writing real life stories development video content of successful outcomes, as well as helpful tips and strategies employed by Job Advocates in consultation with Communications and Relationship Manager.

This position is located at our Dandenong Office and occasional travel to other sites may be required.

This is a 12 months fixed term part time 0.8 FTE (30.4 hours a week) role.

This position is classified in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Award 2010 Modern Award MA000100 with the salary range Band 3.1 with the salary range $62 K plus superannuation.

ABOUT YOU

You're a highly motivated, adaptable all-rounder, ideally with a background in providing administration support across teams, and you're willing and able to learn new systems. Your organisational skills and your attention to detail will provide efficient and effective support to the team. You're personable and friendly, happy to roll up the sleeves and help out, and you easily build strong positive relationships with stakeholders.

SELECTION CRITERIA

The successful applicant for this position will be able to demonstrate:

Essential

  • Demonstrated commitment and personal desire to adhere to Concern Australia’s Mission, Vision, Values and Goals and to work in a team environment.
  • Experience in a similar role providing administrative assistance.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and database administration.
  • Highly developed time management and organisational skills.
  • Experience with the online marketing tools.

Desirable

  • Certification in Business Administration or related field.
  • Experience in a NFP environment with a strong understanding of stakeholder engagement.
  • Experience with Mailchimp or other relevant online marketing platforms.
  • Experience in Wordpress or Sharepoint or other web based content management systems.
  • Design experience including Photoshop or other software.
  • Knowledge of publishing tools including Adobe, Illustrator, etc.

Having a certification in business or administration would be great, but if you don't, we can help you to access appropriate training. Relevant experience will also be looked upon favourably.

Appointments are subject to satisfactory Working with Children Check, National Police Check, International Police Check (If resided overseas for a period of 12 months or longer for the past 10 years) and other employment screening or credential checks as determined by the position description.
