As a Live-In Mentor in our Inside Out program you will reside in a property alongside another Mentor and one to two young people.
The young people participating in this program are aged between 16-19 years and are seeking to transition into independent living after exiting residential care. The Live-In Mentor program seeks to empower young people experiencing disadvantage by giving them the tools and training to continue to lead healthy, independent and fulfilling lives.
Think of it as a housemate with intentional mentorship-building and role modelling. You have the ability to assist your housemate, a young person between 16-19 years of age, develop life skills such as building and nurturing healthy relationships, making everyday lifestyle decisions, sharing household tasks and taking ownership and responsibility of maintaining a household. As a Live-In Mentor, you will model what mastering these skills look like.
You also have the support of a case manager for each young person you live with as well as frequent supervision and training opportunities to become an effective Live-In Mentor.
If you have any questions about the role, please get in touch with Luke Philip, Program Manager on 03 9470 2972.

Applications will be reviewed as they are received.
