About Confit Pathways

Confit Pathways is a not-for-profit charity (registered with the ACNC), with a mission to build alternatives to incarceration and pathways out of the prison system for people to thrive in community. 

Since its founding in 2020, Confit Pathways has been delivering programs in juvenile justice centres by mentors who all have lived prison experience - an approach which uniquely connects with young people to support them towards positive life choices. 

With the new Confit gym opening in early 2024 in partnership with social enterprise Convict Fitness and plans for expanding our program delivery, this is an exciting time to join Confit Pathways embarking on a high-growth journey.

About the role

As the General Manager of Programs and Enterprises, you will report directly to the CEO and play a pivotal role in ensuring operational excellence across the organisation. 

Responsibilities and Duties include:

  • Operations Management and Leadership: Includes overseeing logistics for running the mentoring programs in the justice centres, managing the virtual hubs in regional areas, coordinating speaking engagements for mentors (eg at schools), managing day-to-day operations of the gym, handling operations of the app.
  • HR Administration: Handle HR-related administrative tasks and oversee team dynamics.
  • Career Progression Planning: Assist with developing and and implementing career progression plans for team members.
  • Budgeting: Manage and allocate budgets effectively, ensuring financial efficiency.
  • Stakeholder Management: Assist in supporting the CEO with stakeholder relationship management.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously seek and implement improvements in operational processes.
  • Reporting: Regularly report on operational performance and progress.
  • Social Impact Measuring: Measure and evaluate the social impact of our programs.
  • Data Analysis: Analyse data for strategic decisions, such as opening new gyms and evaluating potential locations.

Requirements:

Relevant Experience 

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in operations, preferably within a fast-paced environment and in a social enterprise or a NFP setting
  • Proven track record of managing diverse operational functions such as logistics, HR, budgeting, and stakeholder management.
  • Experience in process improvement, data analysis, and implementing operational strategies.
  • Candidates with prior experience in a leadership or supervisory role, demonstrating the ability to manage and develop a team will be favourably considered.

Educational Background

  • Tertiary qualifications in business administration, NFP management, operations management or a related field will be favourably considered.
