The Child, Youth Assessment & Therapeutic Service aims to reduce the impact of complex neurodevelopmental conditions in Central Australia including Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder, through early assessment, treatment and management. The multidisciplinary team undertakes neurodevelopmental diagnostic assessments and ongoing interventions for children and young people.

The team includes:

A Team Leader, Neuropsychologists and other specialist Psychologists, Child and Youth Occupational Therapists, Speech Therapists, Clinical Coordinators and Aboriginal Family Support Workers. The team works in partnership with paediatricians and other medical specialists from Alice Springs Hospital as well as allied health professionals from government community health services.

The team is expected to further expand in the near future to include further allied health and medical services enabling the team to provide a remote service. Linking in with an external provider and research institute, the team is also supported by training and resources specific to FASD diagnostics.
