For more than thirty years, our Upstander Programs have been delivered to school students across Victoria free of charge, educating and empowering the next generation to stand up and taking action against injustice, creating real change in their schools and communities.
Due to growth, we are now seeking an experienced educational professional with strong management skills who is comfortable in a fast-paced workplace to join our small and passionate team in Caulfield.
- Permanent, Part Time (0.8 FTE, ideally over 4+ days with flexibility available)

This role will be pivotal to our success, as education is at the core of what we do. Overseeing and managing the design and effectiveness of our Upstander Programs, this person will lead the continued review and refinement, implementation of changes, evaluation of programs and related materials as well as hold responsibility for training and evaluation.
Ideally with a background in teaching and experience managing similar programs, this role will:
- Manage the development and maintenance of educational programs including all content, resources and materials for program delivery.
- Ensuring all programs are aligned to the Victorian curriculum.
- Supervise Training Manager position.
- Oversee the planning, development and delivery of training programs, evaluate the effectiveness of these training programs and implement improvements.
- Develop, implement and review training modules ensuring they are appropriate and up to date.
- Manage training accreditation and performance management of program delivery staff and volunteers.
- Liaise with the Operations Manager ensuring programmatic changes are incorporated into all facets of program delivery and standards are maintained.
- Manage the evaluation process to drive continuous improvement.
- Keep abreast of educational research, strategies and practices that can influence the future direction of our program content, relevance and delivery mechanisms and development of new programs.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders, both internal and external
- Provide input as required for overall organisation growth and capability improvement.
- Prepare or oversee the preparation of reports and other correspondence
- Additional ad hoc tasks as required.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in education
- Experience working in a school environment
- Extensive experience in the development and implementation of education programs and their quality control
- Understanding of contemporary learning principles and instructional design
- Demonstrated experience with the planning, development and delivery of training programs.
- Demonstrated experience managing a team, preferably in the not-for-profit (NFP) or education sectors, or similar.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities, deadlines and meet targets.
- Well-developed project management skills
- High-level written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent leadership and problem-solving capabilities
- High computer literacy with MS Office software, comfortable and experienced in online communications, cloud file-sharing and database use.
- Proven collaborative style and ability to respectfully interact with staff, volunteers and stakeholders.
- Comfortable working in a NFP environment and emotive culture, interacting with volunteers, schools and other stakeholders.
- Current Working with Children Check or VIT registration.
