The Cromehurst Cottage at Lindfield provides live-in Living Skills programmes for school aged children and young adults with an intellectual disability to help build increasing levels of independence.

about the role

There is currently an opportunity for an enthusiastic, energetic and responsible person to implement these living skills programmes to participants over 4 nights each week at the Cromehurst Cottage, Lindfield. The young adults and school aged children will stay with the educator overnight and will be taught independent living skills such as preparation of basic meals and light household daily chores in addition to appropriate personal care. The educator will also be responsible for working with the Cromehurst Foundation to provide business administration associated with running the program.

An attractive salary along with full-time accommodation and associated living costs will be provided as part of the remuneration package. The supervisor will at all times have a private room with en-suite bathroom.

about you

To be considered for this position, applicants must demonstrate experience in providing services to people with a disability and a desire to assist individuals with a disability achieve their maximum level of independence. Applicants must also demonstrate a current national Police check, a Working with Children check and First Aid certificate and CPR and be willing to undergo thorough reference checks.

Experience working as a health or allied health professional or teacher or teacher’s aide and a working knowledge of the NDIS would also be highly desirable.
