Community Shapers is a progressive call centre based in Canberra helping to shape a fairer, more sustainable world. We believe in the power of values-led, well-informed, and inspired over-the-phone conversation to effect social change. It is through this service that we support the progressive movement in Australia by strengthening and growing their membership bases as well as increasing awareness of and support for their campaigns through a combination of advocacy and fundraising over-the-phone outreach.
Community Shapers leads by example, and we are committed to upholding the utmost ethical and professional standards of fundraising, both in terms of how we treat and remunerate our staff and in how we engage our clients' supporters.
Every day we prioritise building a respectful, inclusive, and supportive work environment with the feeling of an activist hub. We communicate with empathy and work together to solve problems.
We only partner with progressive clients working towards a fairer, kinder, more sustainable world, and we only hire Change Agents who share similar values.
In the role of a Change Agent you will work closely with other Change Agents and the Campaign Facilitators to support progressive campaigns. Change Agents need to be professional, friendly, and above all have a passion for social justice, equality, and caring for the environment.
Change Agents are required to:
You will be engaged as a casual employee at a pay rate of $27.40/hour. A minimum of 2 shifts per week is required (you can nominate the two days that suit you), and shifts take place Monday to Friday 2.30pm - 7.30pm.
We are located in a vibrant office space in the city centre.
Due to COVID-19 we are now also set up to work remotely, so if you would like to work with us but are temporarily located interstate - you are still encouraged to apply. However, at this stage, initial training for the role is conducted in person in Canberra, so candidates would need to be available to attend training in person. Please do list your circumstances if this is the case.
We strongly encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to apply.
Please apply as soon as possible. We will conduct interviews in early July with an end July start.
