INTRODUCTION

Homelessness QLD is a collaboration of homelessness services operating in Queensland. We are an Incorporated Association with a broad membership base and an active and committed Management Committee. We aim to represent the diversity of service providers in the homelessness sector and to use our combined voice to advocate for service users and their rights. 

The Opportunity

The Project lead is a role that involves aiding directly to the CEO, and project partners, specialist homeless staff and services and the Department of Housing, Local Government, Planning and Public Works, on practice matters and practice design.

Key responsibilities of the role are to deliver on the outcomes through project management capabilities which advances the delivery of a finalised SHS Professional Practice Framework, Community-based multi-disciplinary case management model of service delivery and supporting resources.

POSITION OBJECTIVES

You will lead with the CEO the project which will focus finalizing and contributing on the implementation of the SHS Practice Framework, as well as the collaborative development of a community-based multi-disciplinary case management model, working in conjunction with the projects Governance Group, our sector partners, and the Department of Housing, Local Government, Planning and Public Works.

The Framework aim is to support agencies and organisations to provide a response to people who are homeless or are at risk of homelessness, and the Community-based multi-disciplinary case management model will build on this work and further support the SHS Practice Framework to deliver quality, consistent case management practice across Queensland.

Accountabilities will include:

You will foster a culture of excellence and evidence-based practice through supporting these projects in: 

  • Actively manage project activities by supervising the creation of survey tools, conducting basic data analysis, and preparing reports, promotional material, infographics, and more.
  • Promote and ensure the use of appropriate project management techniques, methodologies, and tools, including benefits realisation and risk and issue management, to ensure quality project outcomes are delivered.
  • Liaise, consult, and negotiate with external stakeholders in relation to practice development.
  • Oversee and manage the monitoring and reporting of project related trends and performance against project plans and schedules.
  • Co-facilitate effective stakeholder engagement with a wide range of organisations, agencies.
  • Initiate, influence, and maintain relationships with and between key internal and external stakeholders, facilitate effective communication channels, and foster relationships through lessons learned, feedback mechanisms and management of expectations.
  • Plan, schedule, monitor and report on activities, ensuring there are appropriate and effective governance arrangements in place, supported by reporting on implementation progress.
  • Research, analyse, interpret, and assimilate complex information for the development of papers, briefing documents, submissions, plans, detailed reports, and other correspondence as required and effectively and clearly present the key elements to stakeholders, as required.
  • Proactively manage high level communication and consultation with a broad range of stakeholders. Including the preparation of timely and accurate advice, briefings, reports, and submissions is specialised subject areas and emerging issues/risks or requirements, procurement, policy documentation and other matters as required by CEO. 

How you will be assessed:

  • Proven stakeholder relationship management skills to support effective business change, including the ability to initiate relationships and influence key stakeholders.
  • You will have demonstrated ability to work autonomously, meet deadlines, establish priorities and work as an effective member of a team to successfully contribute to organisational objectives.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of project management methodologies, resources, tools, and software, such as ASANA would be highly regarded.
  • Knowledge of working with disadvantaged groups including people from culturally diverse backgrounds and people of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication, consultation, negotiation, and liaison skills to represent HQ professionally with key stakeholders and industry.
  • Proven analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills and a proven ability to work in a team environment developing.

Experience and Qualifications

There are no mandatory qualifications however, the following would be well regarded:

  • Project management qualifications or certification.
  • Knowledge and experience in the human services sector.
  • Knowledge and experience (or the capacity to quickly gain knowledge), homelessness issues and services.
  • QLD Blue Card or willing to obtain.
