We are looking for a motivated individual who is passionate about digital communications and social media. This role is responsible for day-to-day management of all aspects of Cure Brain Cancer Foundation’s social media channels, implementing the content marketing strategy and driving campaign communication activities.

As the voice of the Foundation on social media, this role will have a deep level of knowledge of social media channels and the latest platforms, tools and social technology developments.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

Social Media:

  • Develop & lead social ideas and opportunities for Australia’s leading brain cancer organisation.
  • Oversee the execution of social media strategies, including scheduling, posting and maintaining social media channels.
  • Responsible for managing all communication with the public via social platforms, including comments and direct messages, and engaging with the community in a respectful and informative manner.
  • Support the implementation of the Foundation’s digital communication strategies to effectively advance and protect the Foundation’s reputation, promote its activities, engage its community, and drive broader awareness / advocacy initiatives globally.
  • Regular reporting, insights and analysis of social media performance.
  • Develop, execute, optimise and monitoring effective social campaigns to reach campaign and organisation wide KPIs.
  • Ensure consistent portrayal of the Foundation’s brand across all social channels.
  • Liaise with the fundraising and research teams to schedule cross-foundational content, to promote all aspects of our work on socials.

Digital Content Management

  • Work with the Director, Communications & Digital Strategy and Content Manager on content strategy development and implementation.
  • Manage cross channel campaigns and leverage earned and owned media effectively to achieve campaign objectives.
  • Design and create assets for digital and social channels, including imagery and copy, and short form video content. This includes use of design software.
  • Contribute to planned campaign activities to continually promote the brand and mission in social and digital platforms.
  • Ensure consistent messaging across all external communications, ensuring that all communications are on brand and on message.

Stakeholder Communication and Engagement

  • Build and engage online communities across key social media platforms.
  • Work collaboratively with key team members and vendors to build strong content and digital campaigns to best communicate Foundation stories and initiatives while achieving a high ROI.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders internally & externally including media contacts, community members and ambassadors, influencers, corporate partners, and other non-profit and government collaborators.
  • Collaborate with the fundraising team to contribute to our digital fundraising strategy and activities, including digital fundraising, social media advertising and donor acquisition, and digital peer-to-peer fundraising campaigns.
  • Work with the research team to proactively identify opportunities to communicate impact to our supporters via digital and social media channels.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Tertiary qualifications in marketing, communications or a related discipline
  • At least 3-5 years of communications experience implementing and managing social media content and campaigns across social media marketing platforms
  • Experience in all social media platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and Twitter) through both paid and earned campaigns

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organisational and relationship management skills
  • Highly skilled at content creation and campaign management for social and digital channels
  • Graphic design skills for the development of social media content files and imagery
  • Proficiency in Canva, Social Media monitoring tools (Sprout Social, Hootsuite or similar) and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator, Premiere Pro)
  • Experience with basic video editing is desirable
  • Sound knowledge of analytics and reporting for socials and digital channels including website
  • An understanding of social media best practice, SEO and influencer engagement and marketing
  • An understanding of how to leverage earned and owned media effectively
  • Proven hands-on skills in developing quality communications materials and assets for multi-channel use
  • Strong communication and copy writing skills
  • Ability and passion to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders
  • High level of initiative and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
