NOW HIRING: Learning & Community Coordinator (Identified Position)

The Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair Foundation (DAAF Foundation) is seeking an experienced and dedicated individual to join our team for immediate start, as our new Learning & Community Coordinator.

This is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander identified position. Non-Indigenous candidates are also welcome to apply.

The DAAF Foundation team values passion, commitment and achieving real outcomes for First Nations Art Centres and their artists, and fashion and textiles designers.

ABOUT THE ROLE

In July 2021, DAAF Foundation announced its Digital Pivot Initiative, a three-year project to uplift the digital capability of their member Art Centres. As a part of this initiative, we are launching a Community of Practice (CoP) to provide Art Centre managers, artists, Arts Workers and designers opportunities for ongoing relevant learning and professional development, as well as a space to share and learn from each other.

The expectation of the Learning & Community Coordinator is to lead the establishment of the CoP, manage the learning content and activities, and facilitate community forum groups and online discussions.

In the first instance, this is a transformation and establishment focussed role, so we are looking for an experienced person from a learning and development background, with a strong understanding of how to set up new processes. Once the platform is established, the role will focus on community and engagement with the goal to continue building and running the CoP once the initial establishment is achieved.

The Indigenous Fashion Projects (IFP) is a DAAF Foundation program and collaborates with Indigenous Australians working in textiles and fashion, with a range of development programs, mentoring opportunities and promotional events. IFP’s purpose is the organised support of the development of Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander textile and fashion practice and enterprise, and is home of the National Indigenous Fashion Awards (NIFA), Country to Couture Runway, Pathways Program, IFP Runway at Afterpay Australian Fashion Week - and more!
