About the corporation:

The Dambimangari Native Title Determination covers 16,040 square kilometres of land and 11,896 square kilometres of sea country in the remote North Kimberley, dotted with more than 720 islands. Led by the Elders and the Dambimangari Aboriginal Corporation, Traditional Owners are working to continue to build a successful future for their people, drawing on the strong links between the land and the Dambimangari identity. The Corporation uses funds from Native Title agreements, government, and business investments to provide:

  • Cultural programs and return to country trips

  • Employment and training initiatives

  • Education support and collaboration with tertiary education campuses

About the role:

This is a hands-on role that will require you to provide high level executive support to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and the Board of Directors. You will support the efficiency of Corporation operations by assisting with special projects, designing, and producing complex documents and developing reports and presentations. In addition, you will:

  • Provide confidential assistance to the CEO and Board
  • Manage the CEO’s Diary
  • Receive and manage all CEO’s telephone calls and general enquiries including directing enquiries to the correct contact person.
  • Respond to email communications on behalf of the CEO as directed.
  • Conduct research and produce correspondence, presentations, and reports both of a general and confidential nature on behalf of the CEO and Board.
  • Prepare and compile meeting information for meetings with internal and external stakeholders and compile board packs.
  • Attends and takes minutes of Board meetings.
  • Organise business appointments and travel arrangements (state and national).
  • Accompany the CEO to meetings.
  • Oversee event organisation and management.
  • Proofread and format Company Materials.
  • Maintain, update, and adhere to all administrative systems and procedures.

About you:

You will be a pro-active and enthusiastic EA with ideally 5 years' experience in a similar role. Cultural competency with Aboriginal people and/or demonstrated respect and understanding of aboriginal communities within the Kimberly region or elsewhere would be highly desirable. You will also have the following demonstrated abilities:

  • Excellent organisational, planning and time management skills
  • Professional presentation with good diplomacy and understanding of the importance of confidentiality.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office suite and IT Skills.
  • Self-motivated and ability to take initiative and work autonomously.
  • Strong initiative, brilliant at problem solving and providing tailored solutions.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Flexible approach to duties along with the ability to work under pressure.
  • High emotional intelligence.
  • An ability to obtain and maintain a Working with Children Check, National Police Clearance, a current valid Western Australian Driver’s Licence, First Aid Certificate.
