Deadly Connections is an Aboriginal Community Controlled and Not-For-Profit Organisation that breaks the cycles of disadvantage and trauma to directly address the over-representation of Aboriginal people in the child protection and justice system/s.
Deadly Connections positively disrupts intergenerational disadvantage, grief, loss, trauma by providing community centred, holistic, culturally responsive interventions and services to First Nations people and communities, particularly those who have been impacted by the child protection and/or justice systems. We aim to develop stronger, safer, communities and more positive futures, for our communities, families, individuals, and kids.
This role would be as a Youth Specialist and project lead on our Deadly Young Warriors program. Deadly Young Warriors offers intensive, individualised case management to Aboriginal youth (10-18 years) as well as weekly group programs which are fun, creative, and culturally responsive. This is targeted towards Aboriginal kids and young people who are involved or at risk of involvement with the justice and/or child protection system/s.
