Deadly Connections is an Aboriginal Community Controlled, not for profit organisation. Its purpose is to build stronger and safer families and communities by driving individual, social and systemic change through a multi layered approach of providing prevention, intervention and diversionary solutions, systemic/individual advocacy and raising community awareness through education.

About the Role

The role of the Executive Assistant to the CEO and Co-Founder will be responsible for providing high level executive assistance and administrative support to the CEO of Deadly Connections and the Sydney and Central Coast based teams at Deadly Connections.

The position will ensure high levels of administration support, organisational effectiveness, communication, and safety to improve the work effectiveness and smooth running of assisting in managing the responsibilities and duties of Deadly Connections CEO.

This will include but is not limited to the following list of duties:

  • Assist in ensuring smooth management of the organisation by providing high level executive support to the CEO.
  • Hold responsibility as first point of contact to the CEO to triage calls and emails as necessary from internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide correspondence, preparation of documents and follow up for internal and external stakeholder meetings
  • Assist in administrative tasks to alleviate organisational responsibilities and provide ad hoc support to the CEO and team
  • Manage staff leave tracker, approve payroll and work closely with external finance team to process pays, reimbursements and supplier payments with minimal disruptions.
  • Ensure financial accountability and consistency by working closely with our external finance and accounting team.

KEY CANDIDATE CONSIDERATIONS

  • High level executive and administration skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a high-pressure environment, manage time effectively and set priorities. As well as the ability to work in isolation and get tasks done
  • Demonstrated computer literacy and keyboard skills, including knowledge and experience with various software including Microsoft Office, business management and accounting programs such as Xero
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills, with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to deliver quality customer service, contribute to service improvements and adapt to change
  • Professional presentation, confidence and positive behaviour at all times
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, time management and organisational skills
  • Ability to undertake research, analyse data and prepare summary recommendations for reports or responses to enquiries on behalf of the CEO
  • Ability to advocate, negotiate and problem solve
  • Understanding of the communities cultural diversity and ability to practice with cultural competence and safety
  • Ability to partake in reflective practice and to be self-directed.
