ABOUT YOUR ORGANISATION

Doctors for the Environment Australia is the leading medical voice on health and climate. A not for profit organisation, our members are medical doctors and students who volunteer their time and expertise to protect health through care of the environment.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re looking for someone who is proactive, creative, and thinks outside the box and can lead the way on using social media to promote and support our vision of a “healthy planet, healthy people”.

Key responsibilities of this role will be:

  • Plan and create a variety of content across all platforms.
  • Manage and update all social media accounts.
  • Monitor social media analytics to track the performance of campaigns and content to provide regular reports.
  • Schedule social media posts and monitor engagement metrics to optimise posting times.
  • Appropriately respond to comments, messages, and mentions in a timely and professional manner.
  • Collaborate with the ED and Media Manager in the planning of social media campaigns.

The role is a part time position ( 20 hours per week) with a requirement that the successful applicant will work 5 days a week, monitoring and updating social media in the morning and afternoon/evening. We can offer:

  • Salary range $65,000 - 69,000 p.a. (pro rata)
  • Flexible working arrangements -hybrid or WFH

You will work as part of a small team of 5 employees, as well as support our passionate and dedicated members.

ABOUT YOU

You will have your finger on the pulse of the latest social media trends,and have experience creating content for a range of platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Youtube).

You will have knowledge of climate change and the impact on human health and a willingness to learn more.

You will be organised, quick to identify our brand and be able to promote it effectively.

You will have the following:

  • 2- 3 years’ experience in a social media role.
  • A demonstrated understanding of social media platforms and best practice.
  • Experience in Canva
  • Demonstrated experience in designing quality graphics.
  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, confidence liaising with volunteer members and other key stakeholders
  • An ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
  • An ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
