ABOUT DEBRA Australia

DEBRA Australia is a non-government-funded not-for-profit organisation, representing and promoting the interests of Australians living with the rare genetic skin condition, Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB).

EB is characterised by the fragility of the skin and mucous membranes that blister and tear from even the slightest touch. Living with EB has been likened to living with painful third-degree burns, and in the more severe cases, can be life-threatening.

As the only charity in Australia that is dedicated to directly supporting individuals and families affected by EB, our vision is a world where no one suffers from EB, and our mission is to ensure the best quality support and medical care for all individuals living with EB, while advocating for effective treatments and a potential cure.

As a member of the charitable association DEBRA International, which comprises of over 50 DEBRA groups around the world, DEBRA Australia delivers services and programs nationally, as well as collaborating with leaders in the field of EB research and patient care on a global scale.
