ABOUT THE ROLE

This position has a core purpose of managing the finance function of the organisation.

It has responsibility for ensuring the day-to-day smooth running of the finance function, implementing finance strategy, and identifying and implementing systems, policies and processes for the finance function which will improve financial monitoring, accountability, and growth across the organisation.

Key areas of responsibilities include:

  • Budgeting and financial forecasting
  • Overseeing the annual audit process
  • Monthly managerial financial reporting
  • Overseeing the bookkeeping function
  • Overseeing statutory compliance obligations
  • Assisting with systems and IT management
  • Supporting and guiding the bookkeeper

Location: Ideally Sydney based, other locations considered for the right candidate.

Hours: Permanent part time 12 hours/week.

Remuneration: Competitive remuneration package offered.

Equipment requirements: Laptop and other office basics will be supplied, however home office set-up is required.

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for a committed, results driven individual, with strong financial management skills to join the team at Delta Therapy Dogs.

Essential Criteria:

  • CA/CPA.
  • Financial leadership qualities backed up by exceptional analytical and numerical skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing a small-to-medium organisation’s accounting, tax and statutory compliance requirements.
  • A thorough understanding of financial governance practices.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting software and MS Excel.
  • Experience managing the annual audit and preparing annual financial statements.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting and supervising a small team.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, highly organised, and efficient, with exceptional time and work management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional learning and continuous improvement.
  • A connection to our purpose.
  • A commitment to safeguarding vulnerable people.
  • Ability to role model values and behaviours consistent with our values.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Industry experience working in a for-purpose organisation.
  • Industry experience working in an RTO.

Delta Therapy Dogs is a national for-purpose organisation whose purpose is to help animals and people bring joy to each other. Our work focuses on bringing the social, physical and emotional benefits of animal assisted services to people who need it most.

Therapy Dogs teams visit sick children and adults in hospitals, residents in aged care facilities, rehabilitation centres, prisons and any other facilities where building connection with a therapy animal can enhance quality of life.

We are also an RTO delivering a Certificate IV in Animal Behaviour & Training to students aspiring to be profession positive-reinforcement dog trainers.
