The role of the Manager of Sector Engagement (Sector Strengthening) is to lead activities relating to a needs assessment of the First Nations disability sector and community, to inform future sector-development strategies, policy, and systemic advocacy.
This is an Identified Role and is open to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander applicants only, in accordance with Section 14(D) of the NSW Anti-Discrimination Act, 1977 NSW.
The location for the role is flexible across Australia.
The Manager of Sector Engagement will:
- Lead activities relating to a needs assessment of the First Nations disability sector and community, to inform future sector-development strategies, policy, and systematic advocacy.
- Develop and implement engagement activities with the First Nations disability sector and community across Australia in both online and face to face engagement.
- Enable community empowerment by delivering best practice community engagement and ensure the community can participate in planning and decision-making processes
- Lead FPDN in implementing a Cultural Model of Inclusion Organisational Tool
- Ensure the outcomes of engagement activities are captured, recorded and analysed effectively.
- Contribute to the team’s high-quality analysis of engagement data to develop accurate, impactful and influential findings and recommendations to drive change for the First Nations disability community
- Translate project outputs, policy and research into accessible resources and information for funding bodies, and the First Nations disability sector.
- Work closely with FPDNs Policy and Advocacy teams contribute to ongoing policy and advocacy work.
- Ensure your actions do not adversely affect the health and safety of others and maintain a respectful workplace free from discrimination, bullying and harassment.
- Work with other FPDN teams to prepare, development, and embed an organisational culture of best practice community engagement
