Drug Awareness Rehabilitation and Management (Drug ARM) is a not-for-profit organisation founded upon Christian principles. Drug ARM is committed to reducing harms associated with alcohol and other drug use and provides a range of specialised services for individuals, families and communities throughout New South Wales, Queensland, and South Australia. 

Position Overview

The Quality Officer will be responsible for activities and processes of the Quality Management System (QMS). This will include reporting of issues and improvements, conducting internal audits, document management and liaising with internal and external stakeholders relating to the QMS. The position will contribute to the ongoing compliance of the organisation and will assist in driving a continuous improvement culture across the organisation.

Pre-requisites for the Position

Qualification and Experience:

  • A combination of experience, expertise and competence sufficient to perform the duties required at this level and preferably in a not-for-profit health care setting;
  • Qualifications, including quality auditing, preferred but not essential where suitable experience, expertise and competence is demonstrated.

Requirements of the Role:

  • Understanding and experience in quality management systems, including but not limited to:
    • Continuous improvement processes (including root cause analysis)
    • Internal quality audit processes
    • External quality audit preparation and readiness
    • Document management
    • Policy and Procedure development
  • Knowledge of the ISO9001 standards, the Qld Human Services Quality Framework and the NDIS Quality Framework;
  • Understanding of the legislative and regulatory requirements for charities and not-for-profits providing health services;
  • Experience in using the Microsoft Office suite of products, including Sharepoint
  • Good scheduling and coordination ability
  • Good time management and the ability to meet deadlines
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work with all roles in an organisation, including frontline, management and executive levels
