The Duldig Studio is hiring!

The Marketing Administrative Assistant role is a multifaceted part time position of 12 hours a week (Tuesday and Thursday afternoons and one Sunday afternoon a month) based at the Duldig Studio in Malvern East. The role calls for a range of competencies to assist in the administration, delivery and marketing of a vibrant program of events.

About Us

Duldig Studio is a house museum located in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne. It features a gallery, original artists’ house, historic studio, sculpture garden and workshop space.

Dedicated to interpreting the lives of artists, Karl Duldig (1902 – 1986) and Slawa Horowitz-Duldig (1902 – 1975) the museum is a not-for-profit organisation established in 2002.

Within the house several rooms are maintained as they were during the family’s residence. Karl’s original studio, with kiln, tools and work across all periods has been kept as it was left by the artist, and in the adjoining garden the bronze and terracotta sculptures also remain in situ.

About You

The ideal applicant will have experience in marketing communications preferably in the arts, events, museums, festivals or community organisation contexts. They will have a passion for working with the community to deliver public programs and ability and interest in marketing and promotion.

The successful applicant will be required to respond to a range of marketing, communications and administrative tasks. Flexibility for planned evening and weekend work is required and in consultation with the Museum Manager.

Selection Criteria

  • Experience working in the arts, events, festivals or in the community sector.
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills, including demonstrable experience working to deadlines, managing rosters and maintaining contact lists.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including proven ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with a range of community stakeholders.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills with previous experience developing material for marketing and publicity purposes, including for digital platforms and social media.
  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with and a passion for delivering public programs
  • Graphic design skills for online communications and familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite, CANVA, Mailchimp, social media platforms, EventBrite and WordPress.

Salary: $53,316 pro rata plus super for 12 hours per week

Hours: Tuesday & Thursday afternoons and monthly open Sundays 1-4pm ( 10 per year)
