About DVCS

Diamond Valley Community Support (DVCS) is a not-for-profit charitable organisation that has been serving the local Diamond Valley community since 1972. DVCS services are free, confidential, impartial and independent. Each year we assist over 9,000 people experiencing financial and/or personal hardship, and we are supported by more than 100 volunteers and 8 part-time staff. Our Services Include: Emergency Relief, Education Support, Financial Counselling, Legal Services, Tax Help and our Volunteers’ Resource Hub.

DVCS currently operates two social enterprise businesses, Weekend Markets and Opportunity Shops, which are a major funding source for our programmes.

The primary market is the weekly Kingsbury Drive Community Market, along with another three monthly markets, and we operate the Diamond Creek and Macleod Op Shops.

The Position

We are seeking a competent and well-organised bookkeeper who will process the day-to-day financial transactions and will report to the Executive Officer.

• This role is a permanent part-time position.
• Whilst there is flexibility, a minimum of 3 separate working days are required.
• The position will be required to perform the duties at Shop 378a, Level 3, Greensborough Plaza, Greensborough 3088.
• Employment is subject to a satisfactory CrimCheck Report and holding a current Working with Children Card.
• The probation period will be six months.

Conditions

All conditions are based on the SCHADS Award Level 3 and the relevant National Standards.

The current award rate is $36.00 per hour.

Qualifications & Experience

• Experience in processing accounting information and preparing spreadsheets.
• Experience in the use of the MYOB accounting system.
