Welcome to The Domestic Violence Crisis Service (DVCS) is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to reducing domestic and family violence (DFV) in the Canberra community since 1988. Our mission is to create a world free from violence and abuse by focusing on prevention, early intervention, and recovery for those impacted by DFV.

And this is where you come in

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Project Lead to join our team at DVCS in Canberra in a full-time capacity. As a part of a new initiative, you will collaborate with primary health care professionals to better recognise and respond to early signs of DFV, enhancing service navigation for victim-survivors.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will encompass engaging with General Practitioners (GPs) and primary care providers face to face or by phone, delivering training and resources, facilitating referrals and improving service navigation for victim-survivors of family violence.
By fostering meaningful connections with GPs and other stakeholders, you will work to collaborate and build engagement in the project. Your confident communication skills, adaptability, and capacity for decision-making will be instrumental in ensuring that the project achieves its aims of promoting a more responsive primary health care sector and better outcomes for people impacted by domestic and family violence.

What's needed for your success

  • 5 years of project management within the DV or community services or local government industry
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the drivers of domestic and family violence
  • Well-developed skills in delivering education or training, or leading group discussions.
  • Demonstrated experience in writing and delivering comprehensive and high-quality reports for funding agencies and governing bodies.
