Welcome to The Domestic Violence Crisis Service (DVCS) is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to reducing domestic and family violence (DFV) in the Canberra community since 1988. Our mission is to create a world free from violence and abuse by focusing on prevention, early intervention, and recovery for those impacted by DFV.

As a dedicated professional currently working in the domestic and family violence (DFV) sector, you understand the importance of early intervention and the crucial role that primary care providers can play in supporting victim-survivors. Reporting into the Primary Care Linkage Coordinator your day-to-day responsibilities will be:

  • Support the day-to-day coordination of the Primary Care Linkages project, including through providing administrative support
  • Build strong relationships with primary care providers, project partners and other stakeholders to improve collaboration, establish referral pathways and improve outcomes for victim survivors of family violence
  • Undertake risk assessment, safety planning and referrals for people identified by primary providers as requiring specialist DFV expertise

Our Ideal Candidate

  • Experience working in the domestic and family violence sector.
  • In-depth understanding of DFV's impact and the needs of those affected.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Keen interest in developing training and facilitation skills.
