EACH is thrilled to announce the establishment of our new headspace centre in Tasmania on Hobart’s Eastern Shore!

headspace is the National Youth Mental Health Foundation with EACH being one of the lead agencies. Each year, headspace nationally assists thousands of young people, and their family and friends, access vital support through headspace services in over 145 communities across Australia, including online and phone counselling services, vocational services, and a presence in schools.

About the role

Are you passionate about leading clinical excellence in youth mental health care? As Clinical Lead of headspace Eastern Shore (hES), you will lead and support our clinical staff in delivering high-quality, youth-focused mental health services.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise clinical staff to ensure high-quality care through direct service and consultations
  • Oversee clinical processes including intake, assessment, and treatment coordination
  • Implement and monitor clinical governance frameworks, ensuring adherence to organisational standards and policies
  • Build relationships with co-located staff, private practitioners, and community agencies
  • Facilitate referral pathways and contribute to regional clinical planning
  • Direct clinical service provision and consultations, ensuring culturally appropriate care for young people
  • Oversee clinical integration, service design, and evaluation efforts
  • Support health promotion and regional mental health initiatives
  • Foster collaborative care among multiple providers and community agencies, and advocate for youth mental health at regional forums
  • Drive service development, evaluation, and continuous improvement

About you

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced professional with a background in one of the following fields:

  • Psychology: Full registration with AHPRA and currently registered or pursuing membership with APS
  • Social Work: Bachelor/Master in Social Work and completion of mental health specific training, along with eligibility pursing membership with AASW
  • Occupational Therapy: Full registration with AHPRA, completion of mental health specific training or endorsed in mental health
  • Division 1 Mental Health Nursing: Completion of additional training or relevant experience – e.g., postgraduate qualifications in mental health nursing

Along with your qualifications, you also possess the following skills and experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of senior clinical experience within the mental health sector
  • Extensive experience in mental health screening, risk assessments, and treatment planning
  • Leadership and supervision of clinical staff, with a commitment to mentorship and team development
  • Ability to engage effectively with diverse young people and families, including Indigenous and CALD communities
  • Strong understanding of health promotion principles and practices
  • Understanding of relevant legislation and policies governing youth mental health
  • Postgraduate qualifications in a related field and experience in delivering training workshops to health professionals (highly regarded)

Familiarity with the Primary Health Care sector, Child & Youth Mental Health, and the Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) system is also essential.
