The Pathways to Resilience program

Our Pathways to Resilience program is an exciting partnership between Uniting Victoria and Tasmania Ltd, EACH, and the Australian Childhood Foundation (ACF), offering an integrated, comprehensive suite of therapeutic family violence services to victim/survivors and their children.

What you’ll be doing

As the Therapeutic Specialist, you will provide counselling for adult victims/survivors using a range of evidence-based treatment approaches, making a huge difference to their lives.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Address the trauma associated with family violence and its impact on the sense of self, confidence, relationships with others, daily life and life choices.
  • Provide linkages to universal and secondary prevention services.
  • The position also supports the delivery of therapeutic groupwork services.
  • Empower victims to participate in decisions.
  • Ensure the MARAM framework is used to continuously cycle through risk and safety concerns for evaluation and review.
  • Enhance opportunities for children and young people to successfully engage and connect with their parent or carer.

Who we’re looking for

To be successful in this role, you will have strong counselling experience in the area of family violence, child protection and/or in working with children and/or adults experiencing complex trauma environment.

You will also bring ability to undertake therapeutic assessment, treatment planning and delivery of therapeutic interventions, and a strong person-centred approach and ability to tailor your work to meet the unique needs of clients.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification (including eligibility with the relevant professional association) in Psychology, Social Work or a related discipline.
