Job Description
Join our Psychological Treatment Services in delivering therapeutic interventions to residents living in Aged Care Facilities who are experiencing mental health concerns.
In this role you will work to improve the lives of residents by:
- Providing high-quality counselling to older individuals in aged care facilities in an individual or group setting.
- Increasing the mental health awareness of residential aged care facility staff, families and carers.
- Collaborating closely with RACFs, families and carers as well as other support stakeholders is essential to improve the mental wellbeing of residents.
- Actively participating in networking and collaborative forums will help develop referral pathways and promote our services at EACH.
- Engaging in clinical, line management, and peer supervision to maintain professional growth and excellence in service provision.

About you
We are seeking an experienced mental health professional who will join our new Better Health service in providing dedicated support to older adults, while also contributing to a positive and collaborative team culture.
To succeed in this position, you will have:
- Demonstrated experience in individual counselling therapy, with a focus on mental health, trauma, vulnerable populations, and family conflict.
- Knowledge of services, networks, and of the social model of health and mental health recovery principles.
- Experience in therapeutic approaches such as ACT, mindfulness, and brief therapy.
- Proficiency in computer applications (Windows, Word, Email, database applications).
Qualifications
- Minimum bachelor’s degree required (e.g. Counselling, Social Work, Nursing or similar) by discipline governing body for registration, recognition, or endorsement.
- At least 2 years of experience within the mental health field (highly regarded)
- Experience working with older adults (highly regarded)
