  • Part-time, 0.6 FTE
  • Max-term until June 2025 with a strong potential of extension
  • Primarily based in Cranbourne, as well as covering Packenham and Narre Warren, on the lands of the Wurundjeri, Boon Wurrung & Bunurong Peoples

Are you ready to use your lived experience with alcohol and other drugs (AOD) and your journey of recovery to create positive change? EACH is seeking passionate AOD Peer Worker for our WEAVE Program to support others on their recovery journey.

About the Role:

As a WEAVE AOD Peer Worker, you’ll draw on your own life-changing experiences with substance use and mental health challenges to provide one-on-one support, facilitate recovery groups, and offer education on relapse prevention. Your lived experience, combined with AOD peer training, will empower others to find hope, connect with their strengths, and build a brighter future. You'll be a key player in shaping the culture of the WEAVE program, participating in clinical reviews, and contributing to ongoing improvement.

This role is perfect for individuals who:

  • Understand the power of shared experiences in overcoming addiction.
  • Have a deep understanding of recovery from both harm minimisation and abstinence perspectives.
  • Thrive in dynamic, multidisciplinary teams, working across both clinical and community settings.

What You’ll Do:

  • Build strong peer relationships by sharing your personal recovery journey.
  • Support service users in developing self-determined recovery goals and community connections.
  • Facilitate AOD recovery groups and engage in outreach to reach those most in need.
  • Mentor Peer Cadets/Trainees, contributing to the future of peer support.
  • Participate in professional development, peer supervision, and reflective practice sessions to ensure best practices.

About You:

You are a compassionate individual with a lived experience of AOD recovery, and you're ready to share your journey to inspire others. You are adaptable, empathetic and committed to providing support in both group and one-on-one settings.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Certificate IV in AOD
  • Current driver’s licence.
  • Understanding of trauma-informed care, family violence and human rights principles.
  • IT literacy
