WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We're looking for a Senior Dental Assistant, responsible for supporting the Team Leader - Dental Assistants in the daily supervision of dental assistants, including supporting the team to understand and respond appropriately to the challenges and operational complexity within the Oral Health Program.

You will be able to work autonomously ensuring all operational issues are resolved, established deadlines are met and be highly involved with the implementation of new models of care.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

The senior dental assistant is responsible for providing professional communication and customer service to the clients within their scope of practice of the dental assistant role. You will be responsible for;

• Providing efficient clinical chair-side assistance to the dental operators in all facets of the delivery of safe, high quality, efficient and effective public dental services
• Ensuring compliance with infection control principles
• Maintaining the clinical environment including sterilisation of instruments and maintenance of dental instruments to industry standards.
• Contributing to the leadership and supervision of the Dental Assistants with the Team Leader - Dental Assistants.
• Operational management including all stock control and occasionally rostering and audits.

Working with dentists, dental therapists, oral health therapists, prosthetists, dental students and the dental assistant team who provide a comprehensive range of high-quality dental services in a friendly environment, our team is dedicated to giving clients the best possible support.

We are a large Public Dental agency with 19 dental chairs in Ringwood and Ferntree Gully, a mobile van and outreach programs.

In total there are approximately 100 staff members that work across the site in the provision of high quality, safe clinical services. A diverse team consisting of dentists, prosthetists, oral health therapists, dental therapists, senior dental assistants, oral health educators, dental assistants and trainee dental assistants.
