Role Overview:

The Financial and Gambling Support Services Team Leader will ensure the successful and efficient daily operation of the Financial and Gambling Support Services program at EACH. This role involves providing support, performance development, caseload coordination, team meetings, and supervision to team members. The Team Leader will demonstrate leadership skills and foster a positive team culture, ensuring staff safety and wellbeing through organisational supervision and regular meetings.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Program Leadership: Oversee the daily operations of the Financial and Gambling Support Services program, ensuring effective support, coordination, and supervision of team members.
  • Leadership: Exhibit leadership skills and traits as outlined in the organisation's expectations, fostering a positive and collaborative team culture.
  • Staff Support: Ensure staff safety and wellbeing through 1:1 quarterly meetings and other related activities.
  • Systems and Processes: Maintain EACH systems related to data management, risk reporting, quality improvement, client record systems, and staff files.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor and evaluate program performance, identifying and implementing solutions in consultation with leadership to ensure high-quality service delivery and outcomes.
  • Compliance: Ensure practice and service delivery are consistent with Program Guidelines.
  • Resource Allocation: Allocate staffing and resources within budget provisions.
  • Caseload Management: Manage a small caseload appropriate to your qualifications.
  • Funder Relationships: Maintain a strong collaborative working relationship with the funder, providing requested information within specified timeframes.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, negotiating protocols for collaborative planning, service delivery, and ongoing development of EACH services.
  • Policy Development: Develop and enact appropriate policies, systems, models, and protocols to support service delivery.
  • Team Collaboration: Engage with and contribute to the broader operation of the Financial and Gambling Support Services Stream, in collaboration with the Program Manager.

About you

We are looking for a highly skilled Team Leader with a strong background in counselling and team leadership. The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders.

Strong problem-solving and organisational abilities are essential, as well as a solid understanding of the Social Determinants of Health and the Social Model of Health approach. Experience in leading teams, engaging key stakeholders, and working with funding bodies is crucial.

A minimum of 5 years of counselling experience is desirable, along with knowledge of services and networks that support individuals affected by gambling harm.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work or Counselling and be eligible for membership/registration with one of the following: AASW, AMHSW, PACFA/ or Level 2 or higher membership of the Australia Counselling Association (ACA)
  • Completion of a Criminal History Check and Employee Working With Children Check (or State equivalent) prior to commencement of employment and as required by legislation and policy during employment, as well as a duty to disclose relevant information that may arise after employment has commenced
  • Current state-based driver’s license
